Adolescent Immunisations (dTpa HPV Meningococcal)
Two vaccines are recommended for your adolescent at 12–13 years of age (year 7 or age equivalent). These vaccines are available for free as part of the National Immunisation Program. They are:
a combined booster vaccine that protects against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough), commonly known as dTpa
a vaccine that protects against nine types of human papillomavirus (HPV).
Meningococcal vaccination is recommended for all adolescents at 14–16 years of age (year 10 or age equivalent):
One meningococcal vaccine dose (MenACWY) is part of the National Immunisation Program and is available for free through school vaccination programs.
Two doses of a different meningococcal vaccine (MenB) are also recommended. In ACT, this vaccine is not funded and a private charge is payable
